The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (“EEOC”) announced that it has delayed the filing due date for the EEO-1 Report.
The EEO-1 Report is a compliance survey mandated by federal statute and regulations. The survey requires company employment data to be categorized by race/ethnicity, gender, and job category. The data which employers report in the survey helps the EEOC in deterring employment discrimination. The EEO-1 must be filed by private employers with 100 or more employees; and any federal government contractors or first-tier subcontractors with 50 or more employees who have a federal contract, sub¬contract, or purchase order amounting to $50,000 or more.
Due to the recent partial government shutdown, the 2018 EEO-1 Survey will not be available until early March 2019. The exact release date of the survey will be forthcoming from the EEOC. Because of the delay, the deadline for EEO-1 filers to submit their EEO-1 Survey data has been pushed back from March 31, 2019 to May 31, 2019.
