Biography

Zachary Meth advises clients on matters related to qualified retirement plans governed by ERISA, including with respect to plan administration and compliance with ERISA and the Internal Revenue Code. He provides counsel to retiree medical trusts, and health and welfare plans on plan design and compliance issues arising under ERISA and relevant healthcare laws, such as the Affordable Care Act and HIPAA. Mr. Meth also advises on retiree medical trust matters including implementing health reimbursement plans and issues arising under the Internal Revenue Code. Mr. Meth also counsels collectively bargained multiemployer funds, known as “Taft-Hartley plans,” including defined contribution, defined benefit, and health and welfare plans. He guides these Taft-Hartley plans with various matters including compliance of new legislation, analyzing investment recommendations from Plan fiduciaries, and the administration of Qualified Domestic Relations Orders. In addition, Mr. Meth drafts ERISA plan documents such as summary plan descriptions and plan amendments, analyzes investment of ERISA plan assets in collective investment trusts and partnerships, and negotiates and prepare service provider agreements, insurance policies, and investment policies. Prior to joining The Wagner Law Group, Mr. Meth served as an associate at a Los Angeles law firm as well as one the country’s largest public accounting firms.
